What are our priority projects?
WE AIM TO ACHIEVE VERY AMBITIOUS RESULTS; BY
PICKING UP WHERE OTHERS HAVE LEFT OFF, WE AIM TO EXPAND THE LIST OF MUSHROOM SPECIES THAT CAN BE CULTIVATED. WE FOCUS ON INDOOR METHODS SO THAT WE CAN OFFER FRESH MUSHROOMS YEAR-ROUND.
To ensure we maintain the right focus, we form research teams for the projects we are advancing in parallel. Our methodology involves leveraging existing ideas, methods, and experiments to identify the key environmental and biological parameters that influence fungal growth, and applying Design of Experiments (DoE) to develop a commercial process.
The first team, Project Morchella, focuses on the indoor cultivation of morel species. We have a proven method that we’ve already used successfully to cultivate them both indoors and outdoors.
The second team, the Agaricus & Macrolepiota Project, focuses on parasol mushrooms and wild button mushroom species. Successful trials have already been conducted; the project aims to stabilize the crop and improve yields.
The third team, Project Lactarius, focuses on milk cap mushroom species. Successful trials have already been conducted involving the inoculation of seedlings and mature trees; the next step is the indoor tree-in-pot phase.
The fourth team, Project Boletus, is investigating the potential of porcini mushroom species. There have already been successful trials with Phlebopus portentosus, and we are also exploring possibilities with other species.
The fifth team, Project Cantharellus, is investigating the possibilities with chanterelles. Very limited success has been achieved in this area; with chanterelles, there have been no noteworthy results, with the exception of Eric Danell’s experiments.
The fifth team, Project Amanita, is investigating the potential of Amanita species, particularly imperial mushrooms. No success has yet been achieved in this area.
